Saga Car Insurance
Updated: Periodically. Details correct at the time of publication – December, 2008.
The Saga Group focuses specifically on value-for-money services for people aged 50 and over. Saga believes it can offer cheaper car insurance (also known as ‘Saga motor insurance’) by reflecting the fact that drivers aged under 50 are 31 per cent more likely to make a claim on their car insurance than those aged 50 and over in their car insurance premiums.
Saga car insurance offers a number of price reductions. Firstly, there is a 20 per cent discount if you buy online which includes a 10 per cent introductory discount and you can also benefit from a 10 per cent introductory discount on legal protection and personal accident cover should you choose to add these options. The online discount is subject to your premium being at least £105.
Saga offers a wide range of car insurance cover. Its comprehensive cover includes driving in the European Union at no extra cost for an unlimited period, new for old cover on vehicles less than two years old where you are the first registered keeper and a replacement hire car if yours is being repaired following an accident anywhere in the UK for a maximum of 14 days.
There is the option to add on legal expenses and breakdown cover on top of the additional standard comprehensive cover features including: get you home cover; personal belongings cover; windscreen, window and sunroof glass repairs; and up to a 60 per cent no-claims discount.
