Asda, part of the Wal*Mart family, is one of the many popular supermarket chains expanding its brand into the UK car insurance field. With Asda car insurance (also known as ‘Asda motor insurance’) it hopes to offer value for money as well as additional features and benefits for the consumer.
Asda’s car insurance is split into two categories – third party fire and theft, or comprehensive cover, which is only available to drivers aged 21 and over. Among the benefits of its comprehensive policy are a courtesy car option, approved repairers with a three-year workmanship guarantee and a no-claims discount for careful drivers. This policy also includes accident recovery so that if your car cannot be driven after an accident the insurer will take it to the garage and take you home.
The third party fire and theft option includes a 24hr claim line, a hire car option and a choice of payment methods. There are also a number of optional add-ons with both insurance policies including legal protection and a breakdown service. With Asda comprehensive car insurance cover you can also add on European motoring cover that offers the same level of protection in Europe as you get in the UK.
Making a claim is straightforward with a helpline open 24hrs a days. As an added incentive, there is a 10 per cent discount when you purchase Asda car insurance online.
