Namesco is unique in the market because it's devoted to all things 'internet'. The company actually began life as two separate entities in 1996 and 1997 as Names.co Internet Services Limited and Webcall.com Limited. The two companies merged in 2000 as Namesco - bringing together their expertise in web hosting, domain registration, server solutions and yes, you guessed it, broadband.

Now the company is rapidly climbing the ranks in the UK broadband market and it is doing so thanks in large to an outstanding reputation for service. In 2007, it won the best small ISP award at the PC Advisor Reader Awards. With such a well-established support team on-hand 24/7, users are reassured that they can change their Namesco broadband package or bundle at any time and receive the assistance they need.

Who is Namesco broadband ideal for?

All but the heaviest internet users will be attracted to the Namesco broadband product range with choices to be made based on the speed you require, your budget and the contention ratio you wish to pay for. The 1Gb capacity will be adequate for most users but additional bandwidth can be bought to give you real flexibility. So if you're unsure about your usage, it's worth giving Namesco a try and then adding additional bandwidth if the 1Gb capacity isn't enough.

What do you need?

  • A BT phone line.
  • A USB modem or a wireless router.
  • Windows 95 or above or Apple Mac and Linux.

What else does Namesco have to offer?

All of the Namesco packages include free hardware. The ZyXEL P660R-D1 Router comes with every package and set-up is free on all but the Namesco Bronze deal (which costs £35.25).

Encouragingly, all Namesco broadband packages have a minimum 30 day contract that is much shorter than most broadband deals on the market. This removes one of the huge elements of risk associated with broadband because with the market constantly evolving new deals are regularly made available. By avoiding being tied in to a lengthy deal you can enjoy the freedom of moving around if you need to - although if you cancel within 12 months a £70.50 cancellation fee is payable (reduced to £35.25 if you migrated from another provider).

Namesco gets the thumbs up for its affordable packages, flexible contracts and excellent customer service reputation.

Found Namesco through Money Supermarket. Good reliable service, good speed for my line (2Mbps) Fairly consistent at that speed. Very happy!

Broadband Ratings

Have been with namesco for almost 2 years after my last provider went bust! Set up was very quick and totally painless. Have never had any problems with loss of service or slow speeds. Have only had to contact customer service once (via email) and had a response within a matter of hours. I'm currently on one of their older packages which is good value, but is no longer available. Their newer package line up doesn't seem particularly good value for money, but I've got no reason to change.
