In addition, connection is free and you get 24hr online support.

Also look out for free wireless security on the AOL broadband wireless plus deal. Both packages also offer AOL Talk at no extra cost. AOL broadband wireless allows you to add Talk Evenings and Weekends for free, while AOL broadband wireless plus incorporates an AOL Talk pay-as-you-go subscription.

AOL broadband has a lot in its favour. It is a proven, big-name provider with a well-established name for customer service. Though the contracts are lengthy these deals are well worth consideration particularly as they offer so many added incentives. AOL broadband clearly offers some of the most competitive and cost-effective packages on the market at the moment.

Buyer Beware - Avoid at all Costs

I deeply regret moving to AOL from Tiscali - I was lured by the free Laptop offer - The laptop is fine but the service I've had from AOL is HORRENDOUS. I would not recommend them if I was paid to! The helpdesk is a total waste of space - kept hanging on the line - passed from one department to another then cut off - told to hang on then the guy must have gone home - I could go on but I hope you have got the message. The other main issue is they don't seem able to cope with MS Outlook and use something called an Imap. This means you have to log into their site to clear e-mails (otherwise problems occur) as well as doing housekeeping on your own system. My advice is stay well clear unless you want your fingers burnt and a whole bucketful of problems!!! You have been warned!!!

Don't Go Near Them With A Pole!!!!

AOL are one of the worst internet providers on the market - their customer representatives are extremely unhelpful, to the point of being insulting and rude! I left them some time ago and it was the best move I've made in a long time. Now, I have a faster, more reliable service...and, if a problem should arise, at least Tiscali are civil to speak to! Years ago, AOL were reasonable to deal with, but Heaven knows what has happened in the interim...! A bit of advice: Don't sign up to AOL...you'll regret it, if you do :(
