How do

If
you’re in the market for a new mobile phone, or coming to the end of your
contract, these deals both deserve to be described as ‘can’t miss’
opportunities.
Deal one
is an 18-month contract. Mobile phone provider
CoolNewMobile is offering the Nokia 1110i handset on the Vodafone
Anytime 500 tariff. This entitles you to 500 free voice minutes and 250 free
texts for £35 a month.
That
alone seems interesting, but it’s the cashback offer that appeals to me. Over
the term of the contract you can reclaim £630 – in effect, paying you back for
your use of the phone over that period.

For
those interested in a shorter-term deal, there is a 12-month cashback contract
from the phone company
Phone Box Direct.
It offers the Samsung U600 handset on the Vodafone network’s Anytime 500 tariff.
Again, this deal entitles you to 500 free voice minutes every month, and 250
texts – all for £35 a month.
Here
too, you can claim back £420 in instalments over the term of the deal. This also
effectively pays for your contract over that period.

I know
what you’re thinking: where is the catch? Are these handsets not up to scratch,
or are the cashback terms complicated?
Well,
the handsets are proven winners. The Nokia 1110i has a traditional look with
simplified menus, MP3 ringtones and clutter-free navigation. The Samsung U600 is
from the company’s ‘ultimate edition’ range and combines style with
functionality thanks to a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth capabilities and audio
options.
The
claims terms are straightforward too. All you need is your original monthly bill
and claim form and you can get your first instalment after just four months. If
you don’t see out the duration of your 12-month contract (18 months on the
CoolNewMobile deal) you can claim smaller cash back increments beginning at £10.
A note
of warning: these cashback deals rely on you remembering to make your claim
