Hi
I can't say which is best but I based my decision on the cost of ink and what type of paper the printer took. I ended up buying a larger computer printer which also linked to cameras as I felt the colour and quality of prints were better.
I made the mistake of basing my costs on generic ink cartridges which were cheaper than the originals. These were fine for printing stuff from the PC but not as good as the original manufacturers cartridges for photo printing.
The main concern is the cost of printing a photo versus quality and I agree with Landshark, "make sure you get one with individual colour cartridges and not one with colour and black only" as you have to replace all the colours if one runs out on a 2 cartridge system. My niece has a 2 cartridge system and it's wasteful and costly.
Lots of websites show a 'cost per photo' guide with photo printers designed for cameras. Bear in mind, if you ever want to print big A4 pictures you would be better with a PC printer rather than a 6"x4" dedicated mini printer.
A final point - I bought a Lexmark printer in the past because it was cheap. The quality was excellent but the cost of ink was unbelievable and it ate ink quickly. I hadn't really thought about the purchase long term. I replaced it with an Epson Photo Printer which was 3x the cost to buy but less than a 1/4 of the cost to run. It's worth doing your purchase based on ink costs rather than the initial cost of the printer.
