    Water Entering My Garage

I wonder if anyone can help me with my problem i have. when we get heavy and consistent rain it comes in gradually underneath my garage door and lets a lot in i am not on a slope or anything am on level ground but it seems that that the the back end towards my garage must be sloping a little and i want to put something just outside garage door to stop this..can any one help with some suggestions please..it certainly would be much appreciated..thankyou John

Try a correct sized wooden lathe that has been pre-treated then set it on a bed of window frame silicone sealant then point the outside edges with the same sealant, making sure all gaps are sealed where it butts up to the garage.

You will probably also have to drill through and screw it down to the base a few times, to make sure the weight of your car does not move the timber.

Failing that you could to cut out a gulley across the font of the doors and put in some drainage channel blocks that you can buy from builders merchants, but that will be more difficult and expensive.

Obviously you don't want to be outside checking in heavy rain, have you tried checking levels with a spirit level? Water will always run downhill (sorry that's obvious) Even a very slight slope will allow a lot of water in.Was the batten you used high enough? Heavy rain is usually accompanied by wind, which would overcome a slight barrier.

    Circumstances alters cases!!
