hi kewi, i believe your best off going with sky. depending on your budget you could get a great deal.

You mentioned unlimited download, sky do 10meg for £10 a month with unlimited download.

Phone: can either pay £0/month that entitles you to free evening a w/e calls to landlines or £5/month with anytime landline calls.

TV: Price differs on what channels you want!

    Re: TV/Phone and Broadband

    Hello Kewixx,

KingCarl has a very valid point, Compared of other digital TV services like Virgin Media Sky are very good at what they do.

BT and Tiscali also provide TV like services but these are free view channels only with movies on demand, not really in the same league. The Sky TV system is easier and more stable than that of its rival Virgin Media.

Assuming you have a BT line you can expect to receive around 6.5Mbps on an upto 8Mbps product which would suggest you would be better off on the BT network than with Virgin Media if your line speed was much lower I would suggest otherwise.

If you really need unlimited it will cost £10 a month on top of the basic sky package of £16, evening and weekend calls are £0 and anytime calls are £5.

My advice though is to take out the £5 a month broadband which gives you 40GB a month, this should be more than enough and if its not which is very unlikely then you can just upgrade.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael.

    hi

thanks for the advice, yes unlimited downloads is important as a student i can risk not being able to download! the only problem with sky is that i dont know yet if our landlord will allow a sky dish. if we cannot get sky, which appears to be the favourite, is bt the second choice, (there is a bt line)

    thanks again
