    Tiscali Talk

    Hello
    I'm a Tiscali dialup customer who recently signed up to Tiscali Talk broadband. When I received my welcome pack it told me that they were going to inform my current telephone provider -BT- that they were switching my phone service to them. I was never told at the time of sign up that they were doing this, I just wanted the broadband service not the phone calls with them.
    I informed BT that they were to block this transfer and they have done that.
    Despite numerous calls, emails to Tiscali I still await a reply as to what the position is regards my broadband set-up, has anyone else had any dealings with Tiscali regards TiscaliTalk and what was the outcome.

    Hi David

    This is an interesting issue and one which might be quite common amongst subscribers to ISP's that also offer phone services bundled into one package.

    In the case of Tiscali their product range is focused on combined broadband/phone services - they do have two broadband only products but they sell their 5 broadband / phone products the most.

    If anyone else has had a similar experience to David please let the forum know we're interested to hear your views.

    Tiscali support; now there's an oxymoron if ever I heard one. :)
    Write to Tiscali UKs head office via recorded delivery and fully outline your concerns and complaints. If the matter isn't resolved, take the matter to OFCOM.

    Thanks for the address of OFCOM, so far so good really. Well at least i'm connected to the internet and BT have blocked the transfer of my phone supply to Tiscali, so it's case of wait and see when or what happens when the first bill appears.

    An update- Just received a reply from Tiscali customer service after I sent them a letter stating I only wanted broadband and not the telephone service.
    They apologise for any mix up in the setting up of my account and say it wont affect my broadband service so we await the next bill to see what happens now

    I changed over to the Tiscali talk package in December. Filled out the online application and was told that everything would go live from 31 December 2007. Gave them the Mac code for broadband from my previous supplier of o-bit and stopped direct debits to my prevoius provider. Beginning of March my phone was barred because Tiscali had given me broadband but not telephone. This is still going on and their latest excuse (which is one of many) is that they couldn't give the phone because I don't have a BT line. I do have a BT line, surely they would know this.

    The complaint has not been resolved, although I am furious with their handling of this, I want the telephone sorted out, I cannot even get to speak to one person, but they have emailed me. What's the next step in complaining.

    Call the high level complaints. Forget the Tiscali customer service. They are a mere buffer and only stall for time.

    Please tell me your concerns with that link, if you mean contact numbers for Tiscali that is allowed. Otherwise where does it contravene the T&C's. ?
