    I have recently made enquiries into changing from Virgin Broadband to TalkTalk at Carphone Warehouse. I was told that I need to be connected to a BT phone line. I have already got a old BT phone connection at my home, however, this was disconnected when I joined Telewest (now Virgin). On contacting BT I was told that I would have to pay £125.00 re-connection charge. Therefore, I have put this on hold as I was not aware that it would cost so much to re-connect to BT, in order to take advantage of the Talktalk reduced broadband rate. I am just making sure that people are aware of this shoud anyone be in the same position as me.

    Hi TMF,

    Thanks for pointing this out, As with most ISP`s we require you to have an active BT line and so in your situation being a Virgin/Cable customer you would need to get an active line first before signing up to TalkTalk.
