    Statement from Halifax

    Hi All,

Around 3 months ago I canceled my Halifax Credit Card as I no longer had any use for it. I'm sure it was canceled because I could no longer access any info in the Halifax Online Banking. However, a few days ago, I received an automated e-mail saying 1 statement had arrived for my credit card. This is strange in itself as I always used to get paper statements for it. Upon logging in I can now view that creditcard detail again and I see they have added me 32p credit...

Anyone any ideas what is going on here?

It's worth a phone call to Halifax.

If the account hasn't been cancelled (or perhaps cannot be cancelled until you spend the 32p!), they may well keep the account open until you contact them. They might even have to post you a cheque before they can close the account.

Yeah certainly contact them and find out where the credit came from. It seems strange to get such a small credit? Most are usually refunds from retailers but i doubt this is. If your account is in credit then it will last indefinately so you need to ask for a cheque from them end the matter.
