    SAMSUNG WARRANTY JOKE

back in march 07 i purchased online a samsung HTP1200 home theatre system, it was top of the range & priced £880 in most stores, i got a bargain at £635 online from Pixmania.

After 3 months the front left channel (speaker) crackled so i sent it to be repaired at a samsung authorised dealer.

The system came back with the same problem so i set it back again & voila, exactly the same.

The third time i sent it to a company called Servicecare who are also a Samsung authorised repairer, this time the system came back damaged, there was a large split in the Subwoofer where they had split it open to repair it.

i then contacted Samsung & complained twice a week for over two months with regard to replacement or repair. They stated that the system cant be relaced as the system is obselete now & offered me another model (htthx25r) which after checking is a far inferior model costing £200, can Samsung legally do this???? i am furious to think they treat customers this way & show little regard for consumers.

If anyone knows of anthing i can do it would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: SAMSUNG WARRANTY JOKE

Samsung were the subject of a recent Watchdog report which related to other products but comes down to the same problem. They couldn't care less. Their repair agents are useless and many sales outlets refuse to repair because Samsung simply refuse to cooperate with them.

Basically, if this is within the guarantee period, contact the retail outlet and demand your money back. Send it back to them as "unfit for the purpose intended" and don't accept any further fobbing off. No-one can offer you an inferior product as a 'fair exchange'.

I have blanket-forbidden Samsung products as part of my business. Their registration process is a joke seconded only by their incompetent Customer Care department. It took the BBC to make them recognise the design fault of one of their products - I could have given them another eight that have similar issues.

No more Samsung for this Shark.

    SHARK!

    Re: SAMSUNG WARRANTY JOKE

thanks for the reply, i have just contacted samsung once more & got through to head office & spoke to a manager, the difference in attitude from customer service and senior customer care to the small team at head office was immense, they laughed out loud when they pulled my reference on the computer & have done nothing but apologise for the inconvenience caused.

they then checked my model number & agreed with me then organised a suitable replacement, from now on i wont bother with customer care, go straight to the top!

    thanks, jay
