    Reinspection before Mortgage Funds available

Does anyone know how long it takes a mortgage lender to re-inspect a property after building work has been done?

I originally asked them to do this when the work was completed in March, but it is only now when my solicitor has requested the funds to complete that they say they need to re-inspect first.

Anyone got any idea on the general length of time that it takes? My mortgage offer runs out in June.

    Thanks

Hi...the lender should have been told that the works had been completed and would have asked for funds for the re-inspection from you. If this has not been the sequence then a valuation has not been instructed, if however these points have been followed it should only take about a week to complete.

I asked them countless times myself to reinspect, and Ive seen an email from my mortgage advisor when he asked them to go to reinspect. They told my solicitor yesterday they would send someone out within 3 days to do it, but havent asked for any money. Could this be a delaying tactic to not give us our mortgage?

Im really confused. I practically begged them for two months to reinspect until this has happened.

Hi...this is something that your broker has to deal with. C&G won't normally correspond with the applicant if a broker has been used so for this reason the broker will have to speak to his BDM. The BDM is available on his mobile all the time I call him regularly, I would suggest that you tell your broker this.
