    "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

    Hi,

new-car-discount.com quotes me 1500 off the VW dealer price of a new VW Match.

    Is there a catch?

Hi -- Best advice is to keep shopping around to see if you can get the same car at a lower price, if you can't then the deal is obviously good on the price.

But if you are taking out finance, watch the terms and conditions very closely to see they are comparable to what other deals you can get, also watch you don't get pushed into taking out expensive loan protection against your will, as it's a new car it will have manufacturers warranty, so you will not need an extended warranty.

I bought a Mercedes CLK from them and got it delivered by a Merc Main dealer. I paid the dealer direct as they don't sell the Mercedes themselves it is sold by the dealer. Took about 6 weeks to get the car and was spot on. Also bought a fiat punto for my daughter- this was a pre-registered car I think they do both. I paid new-car-discount.com direct on that because the car was part of a pack of cars they had bought to sell. That took about a week to come as it was pre-reg and in stock.

We thought they were spot on.

I read on another internet review site that New-Car-Discount (MODERATED) arent responding to (MODERATED) customers who have placed deposits.

I would be very careful ordering cars on line.

THIS POST HAS BEEN MODERATED BECAUSE IT MAKES CURRENTLY UNPROVEN ALLEGATIONS ABOUT THE COMPANY CONCERNED

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

I have to say that I was extremely worried about ordering a car over the
internet (the past two sleepless nights I'm sure have gotten on my other
half's nerves as well as my colleagues at work) and I just wanted to write a
quick line to say I can't believe I was concerned at all. Thank you New Car Discount!

The whole process from order to delivery took only two weeks (when the
dealers told me I would have to wait 20 weeks), New Car Discount was able to talk
me through every step of the way, and I am now the very proud owner of a
beautiful new car. I am a very happy bunny.

Isn't it funny how a small company with allegedly questionable morals can get a car 4 months before the company that actually makes them can...?

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

Hi there..First post on here, so be nice to me...My wife wanted a smaller car to do the schooll run ect..The car she has now is a 7 seater people carrier. So with searching around the main dealer fore courts and not having much interests with higher quotes for a new car plus very low end on the part exchange price. I did a search through google and came across 'NEW-CAR-DISCOUNT.COM'. Give the site a new car search (NISSAN MICRA 1.4 5 dr) and found out they could save me £1439 on the road price with 12 mts road tax plus  3 yrs Full UK Manufacturer Warranty. This had me thinking, so I telephone the company and give them details of my part exchange car on offer to them, they came back with a email quotation giving me £3000, this is £500 more than a nissan main dealer would go on. After a bit of chic chat I manage to get a extra £100 on the part exchange .£3100 total on a bland new Nissan micra 1.4 5dr that was needed was a £500 deposit and a 2-4 weeks waiting time. So I telephone back saying I was very interested and wanted to called round their office to check them out. 'Ok no problem', agree postcode was inputted into my gps and off we went the next day. We was greeted outside thier office after a mix up with which department the office were held. After walking into a office block we sat down in the waiting room and was offer a drink, coffee 2 sugar each (me and the wife) we were then lead upstrairs to the main office, there we look into two rooms full of pc's with about 10 staffs working behind them. We then ask about how to do the deal and change a few details on the car, colour ect..with hand shake done and the deal final the deposit (

£500) paid. After this the advisor told me about new car discount and how they make thier money to offer us this great deal. Which is they, buy in bulk from the main dealers and don't have any show room over heads so the savings are pass on to us. We got back home and a email was waiting saying  to wait for 4 weeks for delivery. So now we wait and I will report back to see if the deal is done. Thanks for reading this and taking an interest.

Links were removed from the post above, the original poster has already been in touch with the company, therefore posting live links serves no useful purpose to the original question and is therefore considered promotional advertising material, which is not allowed under the terms of MS service.

    Thanking you.

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

Hiya folks, 1st post on here.

3 weeks ago We looked into purchasing a new astra VXR from new car discount. com and the quote was very very favourable (5k off list price!)

I had concerns about buying online with such a high outlay, and spoke to them about this (queried if car was pre registered, Import, etc etc)

They confirmed as posted above that they are more like 'middle men' who just process the order and the car comes actually direct fro the dealership they have an arrangement with.

Fortunately for us the dealership in question for vauxhall is local to us, so we took a print out of the New car discount quote along to them and asked if they'd price match it to buy directly there and then.

After 3 hrs haggling we got a higher spec VXR (sat Nav option included) for £200 less than the quote for a standard from NCD.com and also saved the delivery fee, got mats, tank of petrol and a 250 quid cleaning kit. so all in all a very good deal and very happy with the dealerships customer service so far!

The Dealership did confirm that NCD ARE Legitimate and that the cars do indeed come from the dealer direct, brand new, unregistered (except to you as 1st owner, and are UK spec and not imports) and have FULL manufacturers warranty.

If there are problems, the dealership deal with them, not NCD.

If you want to do some legwork and haggling, most dealers will price match so worth taking a quote along and driving a hard bargain, but if not it looks like NCD are a safe alternative.

    Hope thats of help

    Dave

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

I got my Focus from them, they did what they said, I think the car was a couple of weeks longer than quoted but we were ok with that , we saved about £3K and my local dealer didn't want to know.

I have recomended them to a few people and have no problem with them at all.

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

I got mine after 6 weeks, they said 4 at first but my local dealer had told me they had no chance at all but new car discount came up with it

from what i remember they do order some cars and then sell their order on so if you are interested in more than one colour or whatever they can get you one sooner or i suppose you wait.

the more I think about it, is was a lot easier than changing my wifes car, which we got direct from Volkswagen and to be honest we had to haggle like mad before we got a decent deal which I just don't like doing, you always feel a dealer has stung you whereas if you knw the price and it is trhe best they can do from the outset, then you just make a decision

I think it's a bit harsh calling them Rippers Bandits and Liars, did you buy a car off them?

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

Strange coincidence you last posters all joining on the same day, then all immediately finding this old thread to sing your songs of praise. ?????

Are you all relatives, or could you be the one and same person, similarity in the posts is obvious ?????

Still prefer a dealer to an unknown website, you have much better choices, things are more in control and safer and you can get better deals all backed up with good after sales service.

    Re: "new-car-discount.com", are they reliable?

nope conmankiller i'm nothing to do with anyone else on here, nothing to do with NCD or vauxhall either.

just saw the post on the forum, had experience in it so felt like i could make a valid contribution.

If your read my post, I didn't deal with NCD and actually did purchase my car from a dealership. (Hartwell Vauxhall in Norwich incidentally)

Feel free to call them if you want to speak to someone about the arrangement they have with NCD, i'm sure Matt or one of the other sales team who dealt with me can give you some verification.

Mention that you were recommended by Dave who bought the VXR 3 weeks ago.
