Gazzer you insinuated that the call charges you ran up suprised you, so the obviuos assumption would be that you thought the call charges would be the same or similiar to using your phone in the UK. And it is nothing like "pay up or else", just simply pay for what you hAve used, nothing more! If you told them that you were not willing to pay for your service how can you expect them to carry on giving you the service you are not going to pay for, and as stated by jjnaughalty , a debt will automatically be passed to collection agencies if you fail to pay. Not just o2 would do that, but any network provider would do the same. Its clear that you wish to complain about any company that requests payment for service. o2 do not lie to their customers I KNOW  that they dont. If an account was in arrears it would be much longer than two weeks to be passed to a collection agency mate, so come on, get real you are just ranting becuase you cant get you're own way! Wont be held to ransom!?? Fine......enjoy your CCJ have fun paying radicous APR on your next credit card or loan agreement. End.

You enter a contract . you use the service, you pay your bill,  then they overcharge you, don't reply to your letters, cut you off after 2 weeks (because you're waiting for a reply), KEEP CHARGING YOU even though you are CUT OFF, set their debt collectors on you and make your life a misery. I will not be held to ransom !!!!!!

Customer service aside (which, in 4 years I've never had an issue with).

You enter a contract. You make yourself aware of charges. You use the service. You pay for what you have used.

    or

You don't pay for what you have used. You have debt. Debt collectors (try to) collect the debt. You refuse to pay further. You get credit problems. You get discontinued service (in case you use more and still don't pay).

Instead of pointing the finger at miserable customer service monkeys, pay for what you have used and life is much easier.

Re: O2 customer service - is there any such thing?!

o2anonCs is about as good at reading as O2 customer services themselves !!!!! Oh of course you ARE  o2 customer services are'nt you !!!!! My thread dosen't say i expected the calls from abroad to be the same as in the UK , now re-read and try again , in fact try teaching the rest of O2 customer services to read and maybe even to write as well and you could maybe be halfway to calling yourselves CUSTOMER SERVICES then !!!!!

O2 customer service consists of "PAY UP OR ELSE"  then they set their bloodhound debt collectors on you who try to intimidate the hell out of you by calling you everyday and being threatening and aggressive down the phone.

My advice to anyone who's thinking about going to O2 or anything else to do with the CARPHONE WAREHOUSE is think again !!! imagine you go away and haven't paid your phone bill for 2/3 weels and you get back and find your phone service CUT OFF and  then DEBT COLLECTORS phoning you up everyday.

TALK TALK is part of CARPHONE WAREHOUSE too. They promise to give you free broadband if you sign up to their bargain landline phone deal. Great i thought , why not . 4 MONTHS later and no sign of their free broadband during which time i had to re-sign up to BT again costing me even more than if i had just stayed with them. TALK TALK  CUSTOMER SERVICES just LIE LIE LIE the whole time and cost you a fortune in calls and time contacting them. They keep you hanging on by saying 'you'll be live in 10 days time'  and ' there's been a technical problem anf weve had to re-provision your order' and even more LIES. Their customer service is similar to O2'S .  They set the debt collectors on you (same one's as O2'S)   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!!!

Its not harsh Mugrus, I cant understand why ppl complain when they get themselves into trouble. the information is clearly displayed on the o2 website, advisors would also tell them if they asked about call charges and 99.9% of the would offer that anyway. Another thing that gets on my nerves is ppl blowing situations out of context, no one would come out with the statements he says they did. Your phone bill = your responsibilty

Thats rather harsh, O2 should make it more clear what the costs would be.  I take it you work for O2?

Re: O2 customer service - is there any such thing?!

A bit stupid to think that the call charges were going to be the same as when ur in the UK. If you dont pay the bills that YOU racked up, then o2 are well within there rights to hand the debt to colletion agents. No one would phone you up and shout debt collectors down the phone at you at all, so stop lying...pathetic. If you are so interested in getting paperwork sent back and forth why didnt you request the international usage cost in writing before you went. Why dont you submit a cliam to the regulating authoraties, they might appriciate a laugh.

Re: O2 customer service - is there any such thing?!

O2 customer services are very unhelpful. i called to check if there was anything i needed to know when calling from abroad as i was going to Cyprus and my mum was ill. They said 'no' just use your phone as normal plus use the code for the UK. They forgot to tell me O2's charges for calling abroad are rediculous. You even get charged for other people calling you !! and even if other people call you and leave a message !!! When i received the bill i wrote to complain and received no answer, i didn't pay all of the rediculous bill only part of it, so i wrote again, by now i've been cut off and they've set their Debt collectors ' on me (they phone you every day and shout the words 'DEBT COLLECTORS' down the phone and tell you to get a solicitor 'BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO NEED ONE !' , lovely eh !! I eventually get a reply saying that i'd never called their customer services for info on calling abroad and basically saying 'tough sh-t' pay up or else. I wrote again explaining everything clearly and that i am now being billed for a mobile service that i am not receiving (as they cut me off ) and are still trying to charge me for it. They appologise for the confusion about charges when roaming (i think that means when you are abroad) then instead of trying to sort it out just say they've now turned it over to their debt collectors ! So customer service at O2 really consists of 1 letter of contempt (if you're lucky) then it's over to our debt collectors to intimidate , scare , and annoy you . i am still refusing to pay and if they take me to county court i will make sure the local press are invited too  !! i am writing to Nicky Campbell at BBC'S WATCHDOG as i bet i'm not the first to experience this .

    Wrong info ? ....Such as?

What timescale were you told and how long did it take?

Was there a postal strike at the time.

Losbor, if at any time you were told wrong info you should have asked to speak to a supervisor immediately

Re: O2 customer service - is there any such thing?!

Yes, a few years ago during their explosive 'Big Brother' growth. I complained up to the chief executive's office and a pa phoned me and said things were going to get much better but it would take time. On one occasion I had a simple query and was shunted around five departments which had a lesser or greater understanding of the query. Once they felt they understood they all gave me the wrong answer. AND all the answers were different. I told the pa O2's cs was the worst I had ever encountered.

O2 customer service - is there any such thing?!

I recently had my phone stolen, and to cut a long story short, had a nightmare getting my replacement SIM as all the staff I spoke to kept giving me the wrong info.  I eventually got my SIM and wrote an email (address provided by O2 rep) to tell them how disappointed I was that led such a merry dance, but received no reply.  I've since sent this email a further 3 times with no reply.  The fact they got so many things wrong doesn't fill me with confidence and I'm less than impressed that they've ignored my complaints.

I have no time and frankly no energy to sit on the phone for hours trying to complain that way, and thought it better to put it in writing anyway.  I'm shocked that I haven't heard so much as a peep out of them!

I'm now going to post my previous letters with a covering letter and see if they bother to reply to that.

Has anyone else had trouble with O2 customer services?  Everyone I spoke to bar one, was really nice, but still told me the wrong thing...
