    MoneySupermarket Web Site Outages

I've noticed on several occasions that this site simply 'gives up' at random - usually after I have posted a reply to something. Some days (such as today) it has been simple and works for hours. On others (such as yesterday) it worked for about 30 mins and then started to give me error messages such as SERVICE UNAVAILABLE. When this happens, I usually give up and go elsewhere (I don't want to be an unwelcome SHARK!)

    What give folks?

    SHARK!

    Hi Sharkey

I had the same problem yesterday.  I kept on getting the 'SERVICE UNAVAILABLE' error message.  It was very frustrating at the time but other than that it's been working fine.

So, it was happening to others, I don't think it was just singling you out!   LOL

    Kind regards

Yep, site has dumped me three times today (and I didn't even get a kiss first) - all others OK and link is good so it has to be the site and not the Shark-equipment ...

    MS - what gives?

Mine did it too (again) - the other night - Tuesday, I think.

Very lonely I was too.  Couldn't look in all night to see what was happening and talk to my pals or be kind and helpful to the other forum members.

I know MS - "it's not me, it's you - you just need a bit of space."  Sob, sob - where's my hankie?

    Kind regards

Along with the duplicate email notifications, when someone replies to a thread that we are subscribed to. ---- Please, I get fed up of deleting duplicate emails.

Dumped 8 times in one day, is it your dating techniques???

No seriously I have managed to be online for most of today and had no problems at all. Could it be geographical?

    Re: MoneySupermarket Web Site Outages

Ran a series of checks today and MS dumped me three times - only when trying to reply to a thread - and we tested the links from our network to the Internet. No problem with either the land lines or the sat-links so we're fire-proof with this end of the operation. Give the session around a minute and we can get back to the site, read the postings and it is only when I try to reply that I get dumped.

No, kiss, no "... l love you as a friend ..."; just dumped.

    UNLOVED SHARK!

Only when you're trying to reply?  Do you think they're trying to tell you something Shark?

Just joking .........    WE love you (as a friend - of course)!  :o)

    REALLY UNLOVED SHARK!

MS, what gives? Login IDs have changed I cannot post more than one reply before the browser looses the connection and my technical people assure me (on their lives) that our systems are fine and so is my machine. I know that sharks get a bad press, but this is REALLY beginning to give me the RED FIN MIST! It only started happening recently and ONLY on this site ...

OK, going back to my Atlantic hide-away now to sniff quietly as no-one loves me anyway (except my eight-week-old son and my wife - so that's all any Shark should need in life :-)

    DISCONNECTED SHARK!

    Re: MoneySupermarket Web Site Outages

    Hi Sharkus,

It's all working fine here. The log-in bit is a little long winded (ie. full e-mail address) but I don't appear to be getting outages.

There is a new 'my account' button. Not too sure why address is needed, something about filling in details quickly but it's probably to send crap in the post.

    Re: MoneySupermarket Web Site Outages

We nailed it yesterday to a rogue IE plug-in from Skype and a delay in the MS server data parsing. Fixed but what a pain in the fins!

    Re: MoneySupermarket Web Site Outages

    Hello there...

Landshark! - any more problems with the Internet Explorer Skype-plug-in? I believe it's still being looked into, but I just wanted to check that you hadn't had any more issues?

RGB - You can relax, we won't be sending you anything in the post that you haven't requested. The 'My Account' button lets you easily retrieve quotes that you've requested. By completing the address and personal details, it simply allows you to speed up the process of requesting a quote - that's all.
