    Dishwasher problem ???????

I've got a service dishwasher and it's starting to play up. If i set the dial to normal wash and dry the dial keeps sticking half way through the wash. If i move it on a click the it will continue the wash. It's also not heating the water during the wash or the dry program ???

Anyone got any ideas as to what the cause could be. I'm thinking it could be the main board but if it was would it run atll ???

    Re: Dishwasher problem ???????

Usually if a water appliance stops during a cycle it is normally due to a function not being completed...i.e, emptying the machine fully (Blocked pump or filter) The heater problem could be the element itself. However if there are multiple problems the main board could be the problem. What model is the machine and how old is it?

I've has a spark round to look at the dishwasher. He said it's the main timer and it need replacing. Where is the best place to get it from and is it simple enough to replace it myself???

    Hi,

You could try this site        http://www.espares.co.uk

I have repaired all my own white goods, and I use my local suppliers of these types of parts. See if there is someone local through yellow pages. The parts are easily changed usually a simple process of remebering colour connections and make sure the power is off, if you are unsure get the engineer to do it. I do believe the timer could be quite expensive as a replacement part so you could price a new machine, as once things start to go other problems could follow.

    Re: Dishwasher problem ???????

Hi, I've checked the price and there £55:00. We looked at a new washer and the cheapest full size silver is £215 from ASDA so it'll be cheaper fixing this one. Would there be any on-line service instructions / manuals that would assist in replacing the timer. Don't get me wrong i'm ok with electrics but would like some back up plans to work from. Any ideas

In my opinion get the new one from asda once one thing goes its going to be touch and go if you replace the timer what to say the pump doesnt give up on you next at lease with a new one you will get a gaurentee it may make economic sense to fixz it yourself short term but long term it could cost you a small fortune
