    Credit Cards

I submitted a profile for a Smart Search on MoneySupermarket this afternoon as I wished to transfer a balance from one of my credit cards to an interest-free card and I wanted to get some idea of my credit score. My profile came back as E$XCELLENT and said I'd have no problem if I applied for a new credit card and transfered over my current balance of £2150. Later this afternoon I applied for a PayPal credit card; and I was promptly refused. I am confused; I've never missed any payments and have no adverse credit history {hence the EXCELLENT profile from Moneysupermarket} Any ideas what the problem might be?

    Re: Credit Cards

It could be because you've just applied for one card. The issuers get worried if they get several applications in a short time.
