    Re: CREDIT CARD APPLICATIONS

Hi --- Points to assist are to check that you are correctly registered on the electoral role held at your local council and that you have some credit history to check. The trouble is you need to get some form of credit first in order to build a good history in order to qualify for cheaper credit.(catch 22)

The usual option is to aply for a Capital One Vanquis card or card of that nature, these are easier to obtain because the rate of interest is very high, but if you do get one of these cards you can use it to build up a good credit history by paying for everyday normal goods and settling the credit card in full every month. This way your credit-worthiness improves without you paying the high interest charged by the card issuers.

Also everytime you apply for credit it leaves a detrimental footprint on your credit record, try not to apply too many times in a short space of time....as too many of these footprints are looked on as unfavourable by lenders when you make a new application for credit.

You can get your credit reports to check your current status by contacting the two main agencies below, cost £2 / report.
