my daughter is going to Cyprus for a year where she will be working in a bar and possibly doing waitressing jobs too. any advice on which kind of insurance cover to get her would be gratefully received. Will a gap year policy cover her?

Please check out this job very thoroughly, I have served in HM forces in Cyprus and spoken with girls who have been promised similar employment. Sometimes it is a cover for forcing them into prostitution. Be especially careful if any mention of work in Beirut ( only a short trip from Cyprus) is ever mentioned. Hopefully I am completely wrong and this is above board. BB

Most Long Stay products on the market should be suitable for her. Whichever insurance provider is selected you should check with them that the work she is intending to do will be covered by the policy but as long as it is just bar work/waitressing then it shouldn't be a problem.

It is difficult to recommend anyone specifically, instead you should have a look at the prices and cover available and make a decision based on the combination that is right for your daughter.
