    Re: car insurance

I have to agree with KingCarl. Even if you did cancel, you would probably not get the insurance cheaper than what you are currently paying. Quinn seem to specialise in young drivers and would also not give you the extra year on your No Claims Discount as most insurers discount any bonus earned in the year you cancel.

unfortunatly they are in their rights to do this. The main reason being is that she is now be on her OWN in the car unsupervised. Insurers have the right to rate every individual risk on its own merit. Quinn may have had alot of new drivers have accident in the first year of driving hence why they charge more. I don't think you will get anywhere with this one!

    car insurance

My daughter aged 17 has just passed her test. They told her to be sure to inform her insurer Quinn Direct which she did. They asked her for £278 additional premium, policy has 4 months to run. Is this normal? I thought insurance went down when they passed. I also checked all the documentation at policy initiation time, no mention of this, I then checked with a fime tootcombe all the docs she has ever been sent by Quinn , no reference anywhere of this. Given that it's not documented is this right or just how they make additional monet praying on the young. Can I legally challenge this given no written words about this, should I cancel and go with another company? Can I complain to Moneysupermarkey and get them to insist it is documenetd as this seems like a cheap trick on the young students of the world? The policy was £900 and now they want 278 more. I would appreciate any advice. Can you tell me how to raise this with Moneysuoermarket so others are not entrapped,
