can anyone give me some advice?

    hi

i bought my daughter a nike tracksuit at £75 from jjb sports about 2 weeks ago and have now lost the reciept. she has wore it twice and started complaining that it was hurting her ankles, that something was digging into her. i had a look and on both legs you can feel hard bits of plstic and a samll springy thing, it feels like a toggle but inside the material sewn in, you can only feel it not see it. where do i stand without a reciept? when taking it back. i know it is only £75 but at this time of year with 2 children it is alot of money to be spending on a faulty tracksuit. any advice would be appreciated.

    thanks

Hi --- You can still take the item back and explain the problem, you don't lose your rights just because you've lost the receipt, however proving that you bought the goods there shifts the onus of proof onto you.

If you can reasonably provide other proof such as a credit card statement or other payment method, even the original bag, box or wrapping, maybe a witness who was present when purchased, possibly they will recognise that they supplied the goods as one of their unique brands or even take your word for it. !!

The best approach is just walk into their shop, ask to speak to a manager / supervisor and just calmly explain the truth, you may just find that they accept your word in this matter and offer you a straight forward exchange.
