I have a criminal conviction (community hours) from April 2003 that I presume expires after 5 Years.

Can you please confirm that I no longer have to disclose this conviction (I have found it very expensive for the last 5 Years as I have always included in my declaration etc)

Please advise me what I need to disclose and which insures will now quote etc?

Thanks for reply Ian, however if I apply on-line they actually ask ''Have you had any criminal convictions spent or outstanding'', don't specify when......unless you can guide me to a relevant site ?

Probably easier if I just contact them by telephone.

Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, if this was for community service then this will expire after 5 years if you were over 18 when convicted, or 2 1/2 years if 17 and under.

Theft is the one that insurers shy away from as 'Theft' materialises from dishonesty.

You should continue to get quotations online and speak to those insurers you wish to place business with. Make them aware of your conviction and be sure to inform them of the correct date of offence and conviction.
