    BT iPhone Calling Cards

Here's another sneaky BT way of extracting money from unsuspecting customers.

Yesterday I purchased a £5 BT callin card and was told that it has 220 minutes worth of talk time to my intended destination. I used the card this morning to be told by the voice that there was a total of 19 minutes on the card!

To cut a long story short, if you use a BT payphone, you are charged an additional 20p per minute! This means that despite using a free 0808 or 0800 access number, you are still charged this horrendously expensive rate by BT. What is more amazing is that the digital interface on the phone cheekily informs you that this is a "FREE CALL". Yet they charge 20p per minute!

Apparently, there are posters which tell you of this fact, that is using a payphone to call a free number will incur a 20p per minute charge! I checked out one of these posters at the place I bought the card and indeed there it was, in very small print. Surely such important information should be written on the card itself, instead of 'free phone' which is quite clearly designed to deceive and extract money from people.

I mean for heaven's sake, where does the cheating and robbery by BT start and where does it stop?
