    Are we whittling too much?

    Hello everyone,

Firstly I just wanted to say to everyone a massive thanks for all the assistance I've received on these forums. As I pay my daily visits I contribute a bit of advice but ask for more, some posters are worse of fthan me others far better- guess that's life!

Still with the present economic situation I think forums such as these are priceless and whether the advice I receive is what I needed to hear as opposed to what I wanted to hear THANK YOU all. Right time to 'batten down the hatches' and ride out this economic storm!

    Regards,

    Paul

think hurricane is a more appropriate word for the credit crunch and the current woes of the economy

More and more people are getting caught up in the hurricane which i believe will last at least 3 years yet.

Your right paul forums are priceless!!

    Long may it continue

Yep Red you're sO much better in describing it! :-) 3 years Urgh!

What gets me is that we're pretty frugal, cutting back etc, researching energy suppliers etc, checking forums for tips however the feeling I get is that however 'sensible' we are the government/world climate is squeezing you even tighter.

Anyone else feel this way or am I exegerating?

    Regards,

    Paul

    Paul,

it's a pity that the self-important idiot that is currently ruining this Country doesn't practice more frugal methodology, instead of entering a grinning contest with the US Presidential hopeful. Talk about spending more than is coming in.........

IVE HAD TO CHANGE TO RED ARMY 2008 AS IVE FINALLY DECIDED TO SHIFT ALL MAIL TO A SINGLE AND BETTER HOTMAIL ACCOUNT THAT IVE HAD FOR 4 YEARS,YAHOO SPAM BLOCKERS ARE USELESS.

You are spot on call, victor meldrew the 2nd is a us economoic copy cat ,he spends more money than he can afford to pay back, which is not only reckless but bloody dangerous as it wont be him picking up the pieces,im sad to say the tories will as enough of the country are idiot enough to vote them in.

Re: Are we whittling too much?

I cannot forgive this pompous clown for all the stealth taxes that have just made it so difficult to keep any savings intact. VAT on almost everything, including energy untilities - and I am old enough to remember that VAT (which came out of the old Purchase Tax) was supposed to be limited to non-essential items. The Pension increase of 75p a week, that even Blair had to apologise for, etc etc.

REDARMY you might be a socialist at heart (easy when you have nothing except idealism) but frankly I'd rather give the tories another go, and if that makes me an idiot, at least I never voted for these idiots currently making a mess of everything.

TIME FOR CHANGE as the man, from America, in the grinning competition says! :)

The problem is who have we got as an alternative to Brown ?

Shame Paddy Ashdown is no longer a potential PM

Re: Are we whittling too much?

Ah yes good old paddy always worth laughing at....lol lol lol lol lol

    Are you serious????

The only 2 candidates id even consider are fresh faces DAVID MILLIBAND AND A RANK OUTSIDER BUT FUTURE PM IN ANDY BURNHAM.

Id say the latter because good old dave as signed just about every major decision over to brussells now although his undemocratic way of doing so is going to fall flat on his backside when he loses his seat at the next election.

Maybe im mad with my choice but just about every pm since thatcher has been mad for this country so burnham surely couldnt do any worse.
