Please help - Electric Folding Roof

I am wanting to buy a car with an electric folding roof (I think they are more secure than soft tops???).
For my sins I am a hockey player, and I must have been really bad because I am a goalkeer, so I have a massive kit bag to cart around with me to every game - approximately 3'3" x 2' x 1'6".
What car with a folding electric roof could I buy that would take my kit bag - if it would not fit in the boot with the roof down, I would have no problem putting it on the back seats if I had to, but I would think that would mean I would a 4 door because if it was raining I would not get it into the rear seats through the front door.
I really would be thankfull if anyone out there can help.
I am not rich so a brand new Jaguar would be out of the question :)

If you were rich, I really don't think you would be going for a Jaguar.

Years ago, maybe... not anymore mate.

    Vw Beetle cabriolet!!!!!!.

No!..... Wait, and hear me out!!!....

Soft top (electric) with glass rear window,  ....4 (and I mean 4) adult seats This car has a "ski rack" running through the middle of the car!!!! ( the arm rest at the rear unlocks and runs through into the boot. I use this for skiis which I am sure are longer than a hockey stick. The boot is a wierd shape but once you get use to it ....it is surprising how much you can actually fit in!!!  I also do martial Arts and I am able to fit in a kicking shield and my kit bag in the boot and plenty of room for other bits!

Soft tops are no different from hard tops when it comes to insure them! Nothing is safe in this world!! lol

Go and have a look! What do you have to loose?

    Just food for thought!

Re: Please help - Electric Folding Roof

Your comment about security is slightly misguided as soft-tops are quite difficult to damage - I have a 17 year old soft-top that is still as good as when it left the factory. The hard top fold downs have far more ways to screw up than the soft and when they wrong BOY do they go wrong. At least with a soft you usually have a manual way to put the roof up again.

    Just a thought

I'm with Landshark. They leak, rattle and are a proper pain in the derriere when they break (often). I've been unfortunate enough to work for two different manufacturers who make this type of vehicle and you wouldn't believe the amount of time I have had to spend picking cars up, apologising to customers, arguing with service managers, getting repairs done, then again, then again etc...

Plus, IMHO, they look crap due to the generic big @rse they have to house the boot. Focus? Megane? 307? Gimme an older A4 / 3 series cab any day....

Although all of the above mentioned cars will probably have enough space to take your kit. Get into a dealership and try it for size...

You gotta tie yourself to the mast my friend, and the storm will end.

Thanks guys - I will start looking at soft tops now - biggest boot I have seen so far are VW golf, Renault Megane and Audi A4 - both I will have to take kit out of the bag - push the bag in and then the stuff I took out of the bag!
