Just today I have received the balance into my bank account as the final settlement figure from HSBC. It's all over now.

    Good luck to all.

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

At last some good new, i have received the letter from Lloyds offering to credit the full amount into my account.

I really thought i would need to fight tooth and claw to get this, but Lloyds have been really good, without me having to chase them. Big thank you to them.

Also need to thank all affected by NCD that have posted here. without reading other peoples posts, i think i would have been truely in the dark, and would not have reached as far as now have.

Good luck to all still trying to claim back their monies.

PS has anyone gone on to buy a new car via a online site

Hah!! Surprisingly not! Lesson firmly learnt there, although if I was to make an expensive purchase over the internet again, heaven forbid, I will most definately be using my credit card! I bought my car from carcraft in person. I've still got some money off vouchers for them if anyone is interested.

And just to say thanks to everyone too. I can't remember who first discovered the section 72 stuff and posted it on here, but thankyou so very much!!

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

I "bought" from NCD and which was delivered on 24th April after a lot of fuss

I applied to the DVLA for a new V5 which arrived last week

Today (at 08.30am) I had the car re-possessed by the administrators

I paid my deposit by debit card and balance by BACS

Am at a complete loss as what to do now - any help would be appreciated - I am sure that my application for new documents in some way ensured the repossession

Here's some evidence I have found that Halifax do honour the visa chargeback scheme

We are presently trying to reclaim monies for a car never delivered by NCD.

I read your post buttercj and have enormous sympathy for you. You must have felt like the arrival of the V5 meant you were home and dry. Some years ago my parents found themselves in a similar position. They were informed of the pending repossession of their car by administrators and they chose to "withhold" the car and consulted a solicitor ( a very good one). Six months and a court case later they were awarded the car (it did get pretty unpleasant at times) but they were very determined. I will post any details I can get from them regarding their case.

    Brooks,

Speak to Ian Scott at Trading Standards (Bexley Branch) 0208 308 7609

When i spoke to him before he mentioned somebody who paid by Debit Card and managed to get their funds returned.

Its got to be worth a try.

    Good Luck

    Buttercj,

I had my car delivered on 1st May 08 - and did the same as you and applied for a V5 which I received several weeks ago - I am now very worried indeed!!

Can I ask did you trade in your old car as PX as I did?

Any legal advice on what to do if the same happens to me would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

When i claimed mine back it was off a visa debit - was your deposit a visa debit card or was it a maestro. or was it a credit card

what i have read is if it is visa endorsed you may want to go down that route

    just a thought to help

    thanks

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

Further to my last post I have just got off the phone with Trading Standards.

They have told me that my payments & PX vehicle amount to the full purchase price of the car offered by NCD and therefore I am the legal owner of the vehicle and must not under any circs hand it over to any third party (Administrators or other) - the only way that anyone could make a claim on my vehicle is if there was some finance owing on it ie HP or similar.

They have told me that if anything similar to Buttercj happens I am to refuse to hand over the car point blank and call the police immediately.

Hope this helps anyone in similar positions - still concerned though!!

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

Please can you advise how you paid for the car. My car arrived on 31st April and I am now very worried too. I have not yet applied to DVLA. Don't know what to do.

    Thanks

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

Vespa would you mind to give us the number of the trading standard office you have just spoke to please? I have also fully paid for my car (and have the reg. and chassis no. given to me) but was never delivered even NCD was the registered V5 owner. The adminstrator explained to me that this was due to the fact they the supplier have not transfer the title to NCD and therefore I am not the owner of my fully paid car.

Can Visa Debit user who has sucessfully claim back their money please let us know as my bank is refusing to refund the chaps balance.

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

I rang my local trading standards 01642 728447 - and was then transferred somewhere else.

I already had a reference number as I had used their advice earlier in my case to enforce delivery from NCD.

I am at a total loss with this and will probably need to seek further legal advice.

    Re: Moneysupermarket's "sponsored partner" New-Car-Discount

    Carless

I paid for my car with £500 deposit on visa - followed by £5904 via BACS transfer from my bank and was allowed I think £5500 px on my old car which the delivery driver took away with him on 01/05/08.

My V5 which I paid £25 to DVLA for arrived approx 3-4 weeks ago with the former keeper registered as Stockport Car Rental LTD.

As the V5 says - the certificate names you as the registered keeper - not the owner - so really dont see the point in having it.

All I know is that I have paid in full owe no finance and as far as the Trading Standards are concerned I OWN the vehicle.
