Re: Virgin+ Box/NETGEAR Wireless connection -update for Kantblue & immo

    Hi Caroline,

Just one thought struck me, is the netgear router also a modem that you used for sky?

If so, you cannot use the router part with Virgins modem, you must obtain a seperate wireless and cable (cat 5 cable ethernet (RJ45)) router only, and connect this between Virgins modem and your pc.

Any make of wireless router should work, just make sure it is a router only, and does not contain a modem.

There is absolutely no need to connect your modem or router to the Virgin+ box, if you want to you can connect it, but you must connect using a usb lead and not the normal ethernet lead, so you would probably need to connect direct to pc or through a usb hub, I wouldn't even bother.

All these things can be obtained online, or from PC world shops ect. .

I had to get in touch with Virgin again who told me to ignore their loading disc as I already had loaded Telewest. Why the guy from Virgin left the disc and told me to just load it beats me, anyway all is well now (for the moment). Thanks anyway for the suggestion. Regards Caroline
