Daughter no longer on boyfriend policy

Daughter no longer on boyfriend policy (split up) and has been driving for 7 years (now 25 - no claims), Where is the best place for her to go for insurance or will she have to start from scratch?

I've heard Direct Line are pretty good. Whether she has to start from scratch will depend on the policy her boyfriend had and the insurers you go with. With any new policy to best to ring round a few places first to get an idea of the deals out there, before you settle for one.

From personal experience I wouldn't recommend Diamond!

    Good luck.

Thanks for that Window Shopper. It seems very unfair for girls who are on boyfiends policy that they are discriminated against when the couple split up but thanks for the advice anyway.

Well . . . it works the same the other way around!

In a similar situation - wanting to build up her own NCB my wife had a very good introductory offer from Churchill and has had a competitive policy with them for some years now. If she rings round a selection of the more 'reputable' directs and brokers she may well get some decent offers as the market seems to be getting a little softer and more competitive at the moment.
