If claim passed to legal firm does it count as insurance claim?

Quick question - had a no fault claim last year, and although my current insurers have loaded my renewal premium, they have not included it on my renewal notice (back of renewal notice lists all claims within 4 years, and accurately lists my wifes). The claim was reported to the insurance company, but on the basis that it was so obviously no fault (unoccupied parked car) they handed it over to their legal services partner.

Have now renewed with another company, and of course declared the claim - but just wondered - if the claim went through the legal services partner rather than the insurance company does it officially count as a claim? Could this be the reason the insurance company have not listed it on their renewal notice (accurate in other respects)?
