Paradise [ip] Freedom Health Insurance - for Companies

I been using the site for various comparisons and have seen a few posts about Freedom and wanted to share our experience. We are a small company with full time and part time workers and we looked at all of the various options when it came to medical insurance for our employees. We wanted a flexible insurance company that would pay cash to our employees so that they can have their treatment wherever they want and didnt want to be tied in to BUPA hospitals as we have a number of other private hospitals in our area that are excellent, too.

I think that anyone taking out health insurance for themselves or their companies need to understand fully what they are signing up to. You always check out the small print before you sign - we all know this. We had a great liaison at Freedom who explained the policy fully and explained to us and the staff what they would be covered for and what would be considered to be an exclusion - all health insurance companies have them. When we take out any type of insurance, we know what is and isnt covered - it is the same with medical insurance. If you have had a condition within a qualifying period before the policy started, it isnt covered.... which is fair.... until you have had no symptoms for a certain period of time.

The staff voted on the insurance cover they wanted and they chose the freedom health policy as it meant that they could get treated abroad if they wanted and they get a cash sum - which isnt taxed - so that they can choose the hospital they want to go to and negotiate a rate with that hospital.

We saw Freedom in a write up in the Independent and got a quote with the different insurance companies and found the premiums to be much cheaper with the freedom policy.

I know this is from a company perspective, but I hope this helps the person who was looking to get some more info about Freedom Healthnet
