    MONEYSUPERMARKET removes posts without notification?

OK, this morning I wrote a simple missive about the iniquities of the £50b that we have all contributed to and guess what - it has gone. Nowhere to be found - not even in my "recent postings".

No bad language, no lies, no issues that would warrant intervention - just gone.

Thankfully ONE person replied so I got a notification but the link goes to some issue about insurance which was nothing about my subject.

I would appreciate an answer please MS. I deserve that at least.

    SHARK!

    Hi Landshark,

Unfortunately, we suffered a serious technical issue across the site this morning and the forums were affected and were 'down' for some time.

As a result, I believe we had to transfer across to a different server and it would appear that some messages were 'lost' in the switch over. It’s probably that the link in the email you received is pointing to the ‘down’ server – which may be why you’re getting a ‘Post not found’ message.

This is the second instance of this problem that I am aware of. If anyone else has been affected, please do let me know.

I’ll be asking the technical team to look into it with immediate effect. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience and rest assured that we only remove messages if they contravene our User Community Standards and/or Terms of Service.

Many thanks for bringing it to my attention.

That explains the change in my signature!

I'm sorry if I came across as angry, but I spent three hours this morning on my servers and was posting replies left right and centre, yet none of these are present. Without knowing the server issue, I thought I was being censored without reason (not for the first time) and i was worried. Serves me right for being up at 4:00am!

    SHARK!

No problem, I can totally understand the frustration.

If it's any consolation, there were a lot of worried-looking people running around here today!

In future, I'll try and post an update in the Anything & Everything forum as soon as I possibly can - to let you know when we encounter a serious issue that may affect your experience. The problem today was we simply weren't aware that switching servers would have such a big impact - until I received an email from another regular and read your post. Apologies again.

    Ah!

I thought it was just me!......I too posted yesterday and wondered why they had been removed. I knew there was a problem but was not sure if it was my computer.

    Oh well!

Nice of you to inform us before a complaint was lodged!

    Just food for thought!
