    Moving home with BT

I currently have BT home phone and broadband at my home with 12 months left on 18 month contract. I am planning on moving to England (from scotland) to be closer to wifes family in the next couple of months.

Our plan is to stay with my in-laws for a while until we figure out where to live.

The place we are moving to can not get a broadband line as it is too far away from the exchange.

Will BT make us pay the remaining 12 months of both contracts?? the in-laws have already asked BT to get broadband loads of times but have been rejected so it would be no fault of my own if i cant continue.

I really dont want to phone BT cause they are a nightmare. Anyone got any ideas/experiences?

    Re: Moving home with BT

I do believe BT will charge you for the full 18 month contract as you applied to have a line and Broadband installed in the property you are using it at and that property alone. I would imagine the in laws are in a very remote part of the uk to not be able to have broadband at all?? Even most homes can get at least half a meg broadband speed in my experiance. In some ways its not BTs fault that broadband cannot be supplied to the property limits are in place to how far broadband can travel down a line( distance from the exchange) thats just part of the broadband limitation for a reliable service on a network originally designed really for telephone only. Just my 2 pence worth! It really is a question i think you need to ask bt?. Hope this helps?
