    Desparate Tiscali customer

Thanks to Tiscali I have been without a phone for 10 days now. I was persuaded by Tiscali sales to change my pricing package which I did not realise would involve Tiscali taking over the line from BT because before I was paying Tiscali for line rental but I now understand that this was wholesale line rental rather local loop unbundling. Tiscali managed to screw up the transfer so now I have no phone. I have spent hours on my mobile phone ringing the customer support line which goes through to a call centre in India. The people I speak to do not have a clue what is going on. All I am told is that it has been referred to provisioning. I have written numerous e-mails to the complaints address which are not answered. Can anyone advise of a UK number which I can try where I can speak to someone who cares and will help?

Try 020 708 72000 - 9 -5pm - wait for the operator and ask for complaints. It might take ages to get thru but if you use 18185 for your calls, then it is a flat rate of 5p

Don't hold your breath that you will get a resolution. Tiscali and its customer service are disgraceful

Write to Tiscali Customer Service Department via Royal Mail, not email. The address is provided somewhere in your documentation. I have had occasion to do this twice in the three years I have been with them.On one occasion, I received a telephone call from them and an offer of a months free service and on the second occasion, Feb.2008, a letter of apology and a discount of £20 pounds off my next bill. This was for a delay in implementing my order and therefore not as serious as your loss of service for 10 days.I stress again, do not telephone or email and your complaint seems to be dealt with in this country. It is not a fast service even so.Good luck!

I have the phone number of a "high level complaints executive", but the last time I considered putting it up on this site, all my posts about Tiscali were wiped out. If there is some way for me to send it to you?.

Thank you my friend. I tried the number, sat in the queue for the next available agent and was just about to give up when someone answered who was surprisingly polite and helpful. He has logged the complaint and escalated the fault so we shall wait and see whether it makes any difference. Good customer service is not that difficult!
