I have moved two times in the last year and and about to move again next month, each property I have moved into has been a brand new property and i have had to pay BT £125.00 each time for my phone line activation. As i am about to move again, i am relutant to pay another &125.00 to yet again have the BT line activated. I have seen on the market brandband dongles that allow computers to access the internet with the use of a land line. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on which ones are the best ones, are they any good? I'm not sure if the speed and quality of the broadband connection would be any good for home use.

This is the exact problem that the broadband dongles were designed for - yes they do work as I have one myself (trial versions from 3 and T Mobile). Another colleague here has a 3 product also which currently delivers in excess of 3 mbps. Although not as fast as some of the higher end broadband products via fixed line this is a perfect solution for general web users - watch out for the download caps though as some of the cheaper products like 3's £10 Lite only has 1GB of download.

Hope this helps - before you buy check the network coverage in your new address as the speeds delivered will be limited if you are not covered by a 3G service....remember you have 7 days to return the product and cancel the contract if you are not receiving the speeds you want - this is a standard consumer protection measure and the network cannot argue with this
