Hi Drew... and welcome to the madness eh!?

I see your point about the appearance of a 'slanging match', but sometimes it's very much necessary to reply to a post which is misleading; especially where insurance is concerned! I usually reply to the post and highlight areas which are incorrect. I also comment on ludicrous comments that are way beyond the realms of reasoning! This, in turn, gets the other party's back up which they usually reply to in a derogatory manner. (Such as you have seen on this board)

I'm sure you appreciate that false or misleading information regarding insurance could have severe repercussions, which is why points are argued and usually ending in a debate!

Insurance is still one of those areas that cause a lot of emotion - not least in my pond. However, it still doesn't justify rudeness and insults. I guess these are the rantings of ill-educated teenagers.

To go back to the original posting - nearly a year old - the essence remains the same. People driving high group vehicles as teenagers must be suspect and/or their policies are invalid. No-one in this climate is going to insure a teenager on a group 19 or higher vehicle at all unless it is for an exorbitant premium. Any parent adding their child to their policy for occasional driving use is OK, but if they are doing this knowing that their child is the principal driver is defrauding the insurance company by failing to disclose a 'material fact'. This could render their policy invalid and could mean that an innocent road user is then left with a bill that they cannot recover.

I am sick of the number of illegal vehicles and motorists on the road today - it costs all of us and it needs to stop.

    SHARK!

Norwich union take into consideration how long you have had your licence... including provisional. When I first passed my test I insured with them and it was quite low (for this reason I assume). Hope that helps.

It might also be worth noting that the longer one has held their provisional licence for, the higher the premium.
