Re: FIRST NATIONAL - MORTGAGE OFFER

I will set up an email account and pass on the details to you.

You're not alone, I can't remember a more stressfull time. I think the level of service is a shambles!

Stay hopefull though - Trust your Broker and Vendor are supportive?

Re: FIRST NATIONAL - MORTGAGE OFFER

    Now that's a wierd one?

You think you have all bases covered, and it's always the unexpected that gets jammed in the works!

You have to agree, we accept it as the norm, but it seems every bank in the land is short staffed! We are totally at their mercy and there is nothing we can do. They don't have a second thought as to how their actions and delays effect us.

My family and are literally going to be homeless on the 16th May and I truly can't see anything happening at all, not at this pace!

It does get you down and you have many, many bad days (which I think most are avoidable) but hey, you have to remember what is at the end of the rainbow!

Re: FIRST NATIONAL - MORTGAGE OFFER

Has your broker not stressed how important this is to them? He should be phoning them every day chasing it to make sure the worst doesnt happen. sometimes you just feel like phoning first nat direct and cutting out the middle man to see if thats any faster.

Ill keep everything crossed for you.

Re: FIRST NATIONAL - MORTGAGE OFFER

    Ha Ha Ha,

Now that is funny! If only u knew the story with the Broker - that's the reason why after staring this process on the 14th February, we are still no closer.

I've even left them alone for a week, reverse physcology to see if they work better without being hassled, guess what - not a word from them for almost a week now!

It was a case of waisting another week going to another broker, or hoping and praying that this Broker would pull-out-all-the-stops to make it up to me. It looks like I may regret that decision. Although absolutley fuming mad, I would be a fool to let rip at this stage.

All said and done, I am now looking for tempoary accomoadation, as even if an offer arrived today, it aint gonna happen before the 16th!

You have got to stay positive otherwise there is no hope and I sincereley wish you well and do not want to put a downer on it for u. I'm sure your Broker is a lot more proffessional and that offer will arrive shortly. I have been told by many that if WE were going to get a NO, it should have happened already.

Let me know how u r getting on.

Re: FIRST NATIONAL - MORTGAGE OFFER

yeah ive been told the same thing its def not a no they are just dotting the i's and crossing the tees ( quite a lot for it to take this long).

You should write to the FSA after youve completed and complain i no it will do no good but it will let you vent some anger.

I hope things start to get better for you soon you deserve your offer way before me. Im goin to phone my broker tonight and find out whats happening now prob waste of a phone call but hey got to do something.

    xx

    Re: Mortgage Headache.......

    Hello Ian,

You may remember a little while back I wrote in and u gave me some excellent advice. You may have also read and discovered I finally got my Mortgage Offer from First National, "happy days" I hear u say after so many problems and delays, well, unfortunately not!

I dont want to come across as the doom and gloom merchant as I always prefer to stay positive. Was going to be cheeky and ask for just a little more advice if you have the time.

As u may remember, the majority of the problems were with the Broker hence even if I wanted to approach them for this advice I would either have to wait or week, they would make something up or simply choose to ignore it!

I got the mortgage offer on the property I longed for. A full Building Survey however has revealed some major works, so unlikely now this is going to go through. I naturally assume that although my MO is for a set amount being my pre-survey offer, even if renegotiated to reduce the selling price, I assume naturally that First Direct will only advance on the actual purchase price and NOT the original offer?

Further, my solicitor advices should I pursue another property, I would have to re-apply for my mortgage - is that true?

Lets say I do have to re-apply and though First National again, would it be a NEW mortgage or simply a revised one? The point I'm trying to make on this issue is can I now pull-out from my Broker and have another broker handle it with First Direct should I seek another property?

And sorry, one more thing, I had a IDOL DECISION DOCUMENT screen dump, a poor fax copy was sent to me from the Broker a while back, confirming that this was my DIP from FD - does that ring true? If this is my DIP, is it still valid, ie; do they have an expiary time and/or are they invalid once an MO is in place? If it is still valid, can I approach the lender direct to gain an original copy to show any estate agents in the future?

I know I have asked a great deal of you, and naturally, if I can change Broker, would love to come to you.

    Kind thanks

    Juliet

    Re: Mortgage Headache.......

Hi...a renegotiated price will just mean an amended offer, no problem though but don't say it is because of a major problem. The solicitor will need to confirm the new price and loan amount with the lender. If you wish to find another property the offer will still stand for that amount or less and it is just a change of property form that the broker will need to send to their packager. You have to stick with your broker to ensure that the present deal is kept I'm afraid.

    Regards

    Ian
