Maybe British Gas was cheapest more than a week ago but unless you've been living under a rock you would know that they also increased the Click 4 prices by 15% making them much more expensive than many other suppliers. Staff at British Gas I have contacted by telephone "forget" how long ago it was that Click 4 prices went up.

    Duh

Moneysupermarket said they were the best deal so I signed up. British Gas wrote to welcome me as a new customer and I saw that they were even more expensive than EDF so I phoned them to cancel. Moneysupermarket site still saying they are the cheapest deal so I posted to let others know that the advice was way wrong. What exactly was your point Backfoot? Are you with British Gas?

Not sure what the duh is for?

No I use Atlantic. If you read back through the thread,I was also querying why MS said BG were the cheapest whereas using my own consumption profile they were way more expensive even before their price hike.I was also warning on other threads that it was likely that BG having cynically initially left the Click 4 tariff alone, at the same time as raising their other tariffs,it was likely they would increase later.

That's exactly what happened and I was interested in your experience as one of those people affected.

Personally I no longer trust British Gas any more than British Telecom. Both seem intent on disguising prices in a confusing array of tariffs. Their customer service seems to be virtually non-existant and the latest British Gas price increase comes at a time when they are said already to be making profits of £1200 per minute !

Atlantic appear to be the best. At least they keep their customers better informed and generally their service is probably the best in the business.
