    Long stay or Annual Multi

I am going traveling in 10 days and I still need to sort out my travel insurance. I have brought a round the world ticket and I will be in the usa, new zealand, australia and Bali.

I have looked at the type of insurance below and the backpacker one is more expensive would the annual mulit trip insurance cover me??

    Annual multi trip
    Single trip
    Backpacker & long stay

Probably not, as they usually stipulate a maximum time away of 30 or 60 days. We haven't been able to find one to cover any longer than this, which is a pain as we would like to spend longer than this at our holiday home abroad.

Re: Long stay or Annual Multi

Sel1983 - As per the previous post unfortunately Annual Multi Trip policies do have maximum trip durations and some also limit the total time that you can spend outside of your home country so if you are travelling for an extensive duration then a long stay/backpacker type policy is the most appropriate type of cover. That being said I am guessing that you are under 45 and therefore the backpacker prices available to you should be very competitive. If you haven't compared prices on here already then certainly check that out but I also know that ACE do a very competitively priced long stay product.

She - you mention that you cannot find AMT cover for more than 60 days for trips to cover trips to your holiday home. Our own annual policy can be extended to 100 days per trip. You do have to be 65 or under to be able to apply for the extension. Also we do limit the amount of time you can spend away from the UK to 183 days throught the year. So this may not meet your needs.

    Hope this helps.
