Re: CAR HIRE FIRM REPORTED TO WATCHDOG!!

I havent had 1 with that company but I had a courtesy car given to me by national car rental where they just turned up one morning at 9am told me they were taking the car and I phoned up the insurers and they said let them have it back and well provide another and then 3 weeks later I was slapped with a 60 pound fine for not leaving the tank with the same amount of petrol they gave it to me
1 How can I make sure its fueled for them to take if they just randomly
2 Its 9AM and they were pressuring me for the keys to take the car back . .
and I had to pay up coz its in the small print u have to leave the car with the same amount of fuel as they deliver it . . so just a warning to everyone out there

Re: CAR HIRE FIRM REPORTED TO WATCHDOG!!

    Dann

It is with interest that i read your recent post with regard to working for Drive Assist. I myself also worked for Drive Assist for a litte over 3 years and left just before Christmas this year to spend more time with my kids. Interestingly most of what you claim in your post is factually incorrect. I also worked on Credit Repair for a small while and know the processes very well.

While we all agree that Drive Assist may have had some issues revolving around damage bills, is there any need to just come on here and spout baltant lies?

Or is it the case that you have never actually worked at Drive Assist, perhaps you work for a competitor and just feel like twisting the knife?

Firstly the amounts quoted for bonus are miles wide of the mark and if you had in fact worked there you would know this. It is not my place to advertise Drive Assist's bonus policy's but 10 - 30 pound per week? Would anyone actually work there for that ? Actually, if it was that bad why were you "apparently" there for 6 months and only left because you were asked to ? Surely if it was that bad, you would of got out much earlier?

Secondly, you advise that you were responsible for billing clients for damage "sometimes in excess of £100". Once again, had you actually worked at Drive Assist, or any other Credit Hire Company come to that, you would be aware that booking clerks DO NOT bill clients for vehicle damage. Within-in Drive Assist and no doubt others, the Fleet Department would deal with all these cases. Experianced members of staff who, without doubt earn more than £10 per week bonus?

You also go on to say that you used to book 4 cars per day but were told that this was not enough. Then you were asked to leave "even though i was booking lots more cars". So you WERE able to book more cars than 4 per day. So why weren't you before you were told? Especially if you you had to book 5 cars to earn a measley £10? If you could book more, which you state you did AFTER being told that you were not producing enough work, why didn't you ? Are you that rich that money does not matter Daniel or are you just lazy? OR as i suspect, you have never worked for Drive Assist and in fact possibly work for Enterprise and are simply jumping on teh band wagon in order to have a dig?

If in fat you did work at Drive Assist, it sounds to me like they are better off without someone like you. Lazy and obvioualy a liar, would any company want you working for them?

I am not here to defend Drive Assist in any way regarding the billing of clients for damage, this is their issue which i believe they are in the process of sorting out but for someone like you to come on and just tell lies in order to stir things up, i feel that i have to respond

Do not listen to this joker, obviously got nothing better to do with his time when not working at McDonalds

    Bye

Re: CAR HIRE FIRM REPORTED TO WATCHDOG!!

Wow. I cannot believe you typed all of that.

I did work at Drive Assist. There are many more people like me who agree that Drive Assist's policies are bad.

I do not really remember how much the bonuses were as I left well over half a year ago.

I do not (and would not, for that matter) work at any other car rental company as I think it is one of the most tedious jobs.

Granted, I do not remember exact details like bonus pay, but I am definately not a liar. I do not appreciate you calling me a joker and a liar, I think you are extremely rude and obnoxious.

And for your information, I do not work for McDonalds, I am now working for the Lichfield Council as a Service Area Manager in a much higher paying and fulfilling job than Drive Assist. I realise Drive Assist (a warehouse full of deks and a company that would employ anybody with a pulse) was a waste of 6 months but has taught me never to do business with them.

You have fun with your kids and your job. I'm glad they asked me to leave.

Re: CAR HIRE FIRM REPORTED TO WATCHDOG!!

yes i certainly have back in july 2006 i was supplied a vauxhall meriva from drive assist as a courtesy car after a non fault accident, they delivered the vehicle to my work address and we walked round it i pointed out that there were numerous scratches around the vehicle and was told that they had all been recorded as this happend whilst it was unloaded from a car transporter so in good faith that this was the case and the damage had been recorded i signed for the car and off they went.

When the car was collected some four weeks later i walked round the vehicle with the employee and stated that as you can see no damage had occurred since delivery to my amazement he replied what damage theres none recorded on here mate as he showed me his pda.

well as again the collection took place at work and i didnt have time to argue it out there as i had to unload a waiting lorry i basically told this guy to get out of my sight.

so months on i hadn't heard a thing and assumed that the guy had made a genuine mistake and infact the damage was recorded somewhere.

BUT to my horror in october of the same year i received a bill for damages totaling £480 so i sent them a rather assertive letter and didnt here any thing at all untill the 9th of november 2007 13 MONTHS later from a debt collectors trying to collect the £480 i telephoned them straight away and explained the dispute with drive assist and that i had written to them and thought the matter had been resolved the credit collections agency were under the impression that i had made no contact with drive assist and so referred it back to drive assist.

I then phoned drive assist or should that be drive unassisted for all the good they do, they said that the matter would be fully investigated and i would be notified of the outcome. As im sure you will have guessed i received a letter just before christmas stating that there was infact no evidence supporting my claims and the £480.00 would be debited to my card.

and then just days later a letter yet again from there collection agency stating i had 48 hours to pay however i was not at home and my partner opened the letter and i asked her to ring them, after hearing that it was a vunerable female on the phone they bullied her into paying and to add insult to injury charged her an extra £1.50 to pay it.

So now after discovering this forum am myself about to contact the fso with a view to have my money refunded.

DRIVE ASSIST ... pry on people at a time when they are at their lowest having been in an accident and losing there cars possibly even loved ones. This behavior is clearly unacceptable and needs to be stopped please if this has happend to you make it known speak out and complain lets try and stop this happening to anyone else

Re: CAR HIRE FIRM REPORTED TO WATCHDOG!!

    Leybald:

Sent my letter to Drive Assist by recorded delivery, here's what I said -

"I am in receipt of your letter making a claim for uninsured losses for Mr. D****. I am the father of John ******** and the policyholder for the vehicle S*** **R.

I am somewhat puzzled as this is the first I have heard of the claim for uninsured losses. As far as I’m concerned I paid promptly direct to Mr. D**** insurer for the damage repairs to his car. I did not go through my insurers as I had a £500 excess because John ******* is a new/young driver. As far as I was concerned I believed this to be full and final payment concerning the incident.

I have sought legal advice and have been advised that your client should be to use the correct legal terminology “mitigating their loss” by if necessary hiring a vehicle of similar specification to his own, not a top of the range Mercedes. I was also asked to enquire what the requirement was for your client in hiring a vehicle, was it absolutely necessary? In fact if you check the hire agreement it is apparent that the vehicle was not even used, if you look at item 15 of the agreement it shows a mileage of 25 when it was hired out and a mileage of 25 miles when the hire finished. If that’s not enough item 16 shows “miles driven” as zero. This would evidence the fact that the hire was indeed not necessary.

I submit that your claim is not valid and I shall not be submitting payment, if I receive any further correspondence I shall be referring this matter to the Financial Services Ombudsmen."

I'll post their reply when I get it.

Well I'm still waiting for a reply 5 months later, look like Driveassist have bottled out!! Would have been nice if they at least wrote and apologised, some chance.
