i'm moving out of my mums house, eek!

    hi there,

i'm moving out of my mum's house, and i'm terrified! i really don't know what to expect!

it's a rented 2 bedroom furnished flat in a nice area, and i know it sounds stupid, but i don't know what kind of bills i'm looking at paying.

i know that i'm looking at gas, electricity, council tax, rent (obviously), tv license and phone line/boradband when we finally set it up!

i was just hoping that someone could let me know if i've missed anything out, i need to know what i'm letting myself in for!

    thanks!

    Em x

Hi -- Don't forget : Contents insurance, Water rates and Food, that you will have to finance.

Not to mention all the cleaning and housework you will have to do, the tender loving care your Mum has shown and her cooking will not be on the menu. !!!

Will post back if I think of anything good. --- But Good luck, everyone has to fly the nest sometime.

Seeing as it's furnished, put a little bit of contingency cash aside as and when you can, in case of minor accidents. A bit of emergency money is handy if you're on your own. Take care to keep all your correspondance when you set up all your new services by the way, it'll help you rectify any problems if you keep good records. It'd be a shame to see you on here tearing your hair out over anything! :)

The idea of all those bills is a bit daunting but once you know where you are with them each month you will love it! I could never go back to my mum's, love the freedom! As long as you know how much the coucil tax etc is, you will be fine. Good luck!!

Yes! one very important thing......HAVE FUN!!!!

Just make sure you go back to your mums for the free meals and to collect your washing and ironing that she has done for you. (She will still need to feel needed!)

She will miss you so much!

    Just food for thought!
