Sorry - did not mean to shout :) I'm new to England and new to your rules and habbits. I have had my car for 3 months and thought you need to have all documents present if POLICE stops you. Now I know there was no need to, but now it's too late. The only paperwork I've got is handwritten sale agreement between me and the previous owner. I told my insurer I had full UK license, becuase I thought there was no difference and when you fill out those insurance forms there was not enough questions to explain my situation.
What if you apply for UK driving license and you have had EEU one for 7years? When you insure you car they only ask what type of licence you have and how long for. New license will have issue date, say, from this month, so does this mean I'm fresh driver for insurance company?? If yes what is the point applying for UK license if you will be asked to pay much more as they think you new on the road.
I will apply for new log book from DVLA and in regards to MOT I heard you can obtain a copy for 10 quids in any MOT garage. That's what I was told by colleauge of mine
I also want to say that I'm not trying to scam them, this is genuine problem and car WAS stolen.
Next question, looking now for new car as I need one for work. Do you have to tell you had a claim or do you say this only if the case is completed and money paid?? Also do you say you had 3 points applied if they haven't applied them just yet, I have been cought by camera and have month time to send paperwork to the Police. Does this mean I have points on my license or not yet. What should I tell my insurer?
Thanks for your reply Landshark
