    Sky Broadband

Is there any particular reason why BSkyB is being slated in the press constantly?  Or why members of the general public should actually care that Virgin Media won’t pay the increased terms?  Understandably people are going to be upset but do they not have the right to increase?  If you buy a house and then after a few years sell it on do you not expect more for it?  You get phone bb and TV for £26 with sky with a free wireless router and mcafee,

I have been with Sky for just over 12 months and have never had to contact them with anything other than upgrading to Sky + and to get broadband, which hasn’t played up yet.

All I can say is that Sky has 10 million customers for a reason….

I have experience with BT, Virgin and Sky and of all of them sky has been the only one that has never messed up.

To all those people out there complaining about how BSkyB is offering cheaper TV phone and broadband….Get a Life

Nb I do not work for sky.

    Re: Sky Broadband

I have to agree i have just moved over to virginmedia from sky.I was with them for broadband and things were ok but now virgin have taken over the customer service ( call centre wise is terrible).Skyanswer al ot quicker give you refunds respect you and want your service. The customer  is King. Not with virgin media, company policy is King.I had to make  10 phone calls to register for Broadband and at a premium rateand it was them who caused the problem.Sky Talk is much cheaper.

Sky + is the business. Much quicker than v+. and easier to use. Think twice before moving from SKY.

    Re: Sky Broadband

Your thread relates to Sky broadband and it is to this I will respond.

Sky is merely a broadband reseller and as such is reliant on the BT network for their service offering. This means that they are no better or worse than any other reseller until you look at other factors.

Since they rely on BT, they must adhere to BT's capabilities and not make sweeping claims about what they can and cannot provide. If they could provide everything through the dish, then they would control the speed and the service, but they don't so they can't.

Sky's 10 million customers are TV customers - they are most certainly NOT broadband clients and you'd do well not to mix data for whatever reason you have here.

Sky has a bad press for a number of reasons and they have their 'good' sides as well as their 'bad' but in general I keep to the same rule as I have done for years. If you don't own the cable between the house and the exchange, then you are the weakest link and can only ever be an "also ran". Sky Broadband is an "also ran" and should be treated as such along with the others of their ilk.

    SHARK!
