Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

just read your concerns to the above issue with broadband, i use to work in the call centre in portsmouth, and the staff were not allowed to give out there surname only their first name or agent id number, also we were not allowed to deal with refunds to overall customer sky accounts, we only dealt in giving back the active fee! also this e-mail address is the one your should contact sky on if any lssues skydigital AT bskyb.com

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

Gosh, I wish I had seen this website before signing up to Sky broadband too (and sky talk).

This just so rings true - I am in the middle of writing a complaints letter on the service I have received from Sky. Their tier 1.2 and 3 are idiots and don't have a clue and yes you are right - could not care less.

I even had an engineer put the phone down on me because I was telling him his job..... (I used to work in IT) and know that their tier 1 work from a script - thats common knowledge in all call centres.

I have had major issues with my broadband and when they tell you they will call back they dont - you have to eventually call them. They log a ticket with their teir 3 for you and say they will investigate, then they dont call you back until its time obviously to close out the ticket they had logged - then they do call you back to ask if you are still experiencing the problem you originally logged (which in most cases you are!!) . If they dont hear back from you within 24 hours, they will then close the ticket - idiots.

The major problems I have had with my broadband, I have had to fix myself - thankfully I know enough to do that, but there are people out there who dont and its them I feel sorry for. It was getting to the stage whereby I was just calling them just to wind them up and be argumentative.... but only because they had not bothered to call me back.

Sky's server is down quite a few times during the day (another item to add to the complaints letter) - what a joke.

My list is endless and I can tell you one thing, that when my 12 months is up - see you later Sky..... never again, just stick with the TV package guys.

    Dont bother getting Sky broadband

I wish I had read this all before!

The tier system is a joke, you are repeating all the same questions and then you get a ticket number which is of no use as the next time you call it is the same questions!!

    DONT JOIN SKY BROADBAND

I have only been with them for a week and already twice it has gone down and I am still waiting for it to be fixed, It is now a exchange problem, do I care what there problems are? I only want to know when I will have broadband, to which question the scripted answer is ........

Spread the word >>>>>  DONT JOIN SKY BROADBAND

It is the worst technical support I have talked to, they can't think or read there notes, keep asking the same questions that are scripted.

I could go on  and on....

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

I have just given up trying to get Sky Broadband after applying on 4th April 2007. Sky say my phone line is clear, BT say my phone line is clear, but Sky still were not able to set me up after 4 attempts. Any attempts to contact anybody remotely intelligent or knowledgeable at Sky have been unsuccessful. I have even involved Ofcom and even they have been unable to prompt Sky into any sort of positive action. It seems that if any sort of problem occurs with your application, Sky are unable and unwilling to try to solve it. On ten occasions, somebody from Sky has been supposed to phone me back and never has, apart from once when Ofcom got involved, and even then the person lied to me about the fact that my next application would definitely be successful. I have now applied to another company for Broadband.

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

I can't understand where all these negative comments about Sky are coming from. I've had Sky broadband for 6 months and have had nothing but excellent service except once when I phoned customer services about a problem. I got straight through and they were very pleasant and sympathetic and put me through to technical support who were also extremely helpful and resolved my problem very quickly. Just joking of course, they are a total fn nightmare. I've complained to ofcom as well.

I have just signed up to sky broadband.

Having read all these posts i have now referred to their cancellation policy (8 days from activation date) and will certainly do so if i share your experiences.

Thank you for sharing your stories and warning me of potential problems with Sky BB.

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

    hi,

am new to this forum, but having all the probs you guys are discussing. My dalliance with skky started in Jan 07 and am still waiting.they apparently have a "preactive Cancel " on my account and nobody can remove it. they have to send e-mail to another department and also no one rings you despite promises.

I have been trying to write a complaint letter ,but does anyone have an address for Mark Anderson -Marketing director? so i can send him my thoughts.

    ************** off

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

just a quick reply to your message, a pre-active cancel can be cleared straight away but the SRT are only allowed to do so many in a day!! oh and the other department that they talk about actually works in the same building as the order status department!!

Re: Dont bother getting Sky broadband

well its nice to know that im not alone i signed up sky in july it took about 2 weeks for the transfer from my virgin bb and from then on is all i got was grief .I went on holiday at the end of july and when i returned i had no bbi phoned sky and they told me i had cancelled the package strange how this was done when i was abroad??? of courseit couldn't have been a mistake by sky they are to efficient ha ha ha .It took them untill friday 7th sept to reconnect me ,then i checked my phone bill which of course is also bundled with my tv and bb package and i was shocked to find a months charges on my phone of nearly £40 ,when i checked the bill the charges was for calls i had to make to sky for a problem that was of their making not mine. But talking to anyone at sky is like talking to a vegetable no thats wrong and an insult to a vegetable sky are much more thicker so please people spread the word as much as possible people out their need to be warned STAY AWAY FROM SKY .All im waiting for now is my mac code and then a return to virgin and hopefully R.I.P sky.
