    Pre Payment Issue

    Hi -

We had £2.80 on our gas meter, so I went and put £10 on the card and transferred it to the meter. However, the meter now seems to think there is £39 on there! Should I be worried about this? Should I call BG?

The account card is ours and I have used it before with no problems. The only thing I did different this time is that I forgot to turn the boiler off. It’s a back-boiler and wasn’t actually on (as in burning away!) but the pilot light was on. Would this have made a difference?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Re: Pre Payment Issue

Depends how honest you want to be!

I would call them and get it checked in case there's a fault with either card or meter display (happened to me a couple of years back and is easily sorted).

The pilot still being lit would ensure that the meter is still ticking over cos you are still using gas but it shouldn't make much difference to how much you're using at all.

     Hope that helps
