    Confused ......

Hi, time for me to move my broadband and phone service.

Sky caught my attention as they will throw in the all the stuff for about 10 a month cheaper (currently talk talk at 21 and sky at 19)

I only have two mixes with sky as it is, so their deal on the surf, talk and watch at £21 a month plus line rental of 11 still makes me a bit better off.

There web site say you need a BT line and as I am with Talk Talk they won't look at it, but from their faq they say only a BT Compatible line is needed, since this is an ex bt line I take it it is still compatible with bt.

    Their faq at

You need a BT compatible telephone line to use Sky broadband, you do not have to be a BT customer. We check this when you order. If you are moving from a different telephone company or have recently moved to a new house, you need to be the registered owner of that telephone line. We suggest you wait 24 hours after your telephone line has been activated before signing up for Sky Broadband.

Has offcom commented on people that or on LLU not being able to move

    Re: Confused ......

    Hi Eddie

I'm afraid the problem is that you're currently with an LLU provider (Talk Talk) and you want to switch to another LLU provider in Sky. LLU to LLU switching is not covered under the MAC code regulation, so this means that you'll have to go through a process called 'cease and reprovide' - this means you need to terminate your broadband connection completely first and then pay BT £58 to reprovide the broadband connection with Sky instead.

Speak to BT and Sky as they should be able to arrange this for you.

    Cheers

    Re: Confused ......

Cheers for reply Jason. I called BT and said I was a Talk Talk customer and wanted to come back to them

Told the guy up front that I was on LLU and he said it would cost nothing to have BT reconnect.

But if a problem with the line then an engineer would have to come out at 180 ish pounds.

Now there is nothing wrong with the line, but just wonder if an engineer "will" have to come out.

Is the 58 you mention above a seperate charge I may have to pay to BT over and above reconnecting
