    Like others I have a long history of unresolved grievance with Tiscali; too tedious to relate here. However, it is their breathtaking incompetence (I do not believe it is willful or a conspiracy) in the way they handle customer dissatisfaction that is most intollerable. I do not believe Tiscali will change unless there is mass protest that gets a lot of publicity. NTL / Virgin customers got themselves organised to do just this.Moderator - Link to forum removed, in line with MS terms of service.

    I am not sure if it still exists, but there was a similar user site called I Hate Orange. I understand that initially they ignored the site and hoped it would go away. Then it dawned on them that this was actually a golden opportunity to actually learn how to improve (are you watching Tiscali???). Of course if the site also gave advice on good alternatives and how to move to them, this might get some traction with Tiscali.

    I don't have the technical nous to set up such a site, but would be delighted if we could collectively provide such an opportunity to 'help Tiscali improve'. Anyone technical out there willing and able to initiate this?

    I cancelled with Tiscali and after the 30 day notice period, cancelled my direct debit. They are threatening to sue and are still claiming that I'm a customer unless I can prove I'm not. I'm not sure how I can "prove" the day I cancelled as I forgot to get a suitable witness in to my home the day Tiscali stopped working and I plugged my Sky router in and started using that instead. They still phone me with offers of upgrade packages.

    They actually owe me about a quid.

    Strider should send in the bailiffs to reclaim the £500 that Tiscali owes

    This is supposed to be a simple matter to do nowadays and the bailiffs charge will be added to Tiscalis bill

    Like others I can spend 2 hours writing about my awful experience with tiscali. Whatever,you do, do not sign up with this ISP. Better to have no service at all than to be with tiscali. When it goes wrong, it will be hell...

    hi i had a very similar problem with tiscali.i did place an order with them but with hindsight and reading reviews, i cancelled within two days...i got a cancellation number off them, and decided to stay with my previous ISP and also upgraded my account to a faster service with a new 12 month contract, within about 2 weeks tiscali had ignored my cancellation orders..and stole my phone line and put it onto a different system, operated solely by tiscali (not a bt line) they also stole my phone calls and put them over to their own account and also my broadband service........i have been arguing with then from day 1 over this and consequently have used up very near to 40 pounds on high rate calls to them and my old isp , trying to sort this mess out.........im still not sorted out yet..but face possibilities of 1 going back to a bt line for 12 months rental (regardless if i wasnt a customer before or not) so i can then choose my own isp......ALSO IF YOUR PUT ON ONE OF THE TISALI SYSTEMS OR YOU SHUT THE ACCOUNT DOWN WITH TISCALI, THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY BT £ 125 TO BE RECONNECTED.........secondly i was billed for over 140 pounds off my old company for the 12 months new contract which i agreed to take out with them...........al this is caused by tiscali......stealing my service...and finallly for approximately 3 to under 4 weeks service off tiscali for phone and broadband deal of £19.99......ive been billed for over 80 pounds and they are demanding it and have billed me an extra month in front to march 31st.......i left on feb 29th.....and billling me for tv which ive never had...all in all its costing me over £345 plus paying more now per month as im tied to bt for 12 months now against my will as its the only way to get back to a normal broadband service in the future.........which then pre-cludes you from a lot of cheap package deals as most isps offer cheaper deals only if you pay line rental to them too....AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

    A little tip for anyone who signs up but wisely decides to cancel within the 10 day cooling off period. The ONLY way that Tiscali accept cancellation is by phoning the cancellation hotline (!) on 0845 077 4488. Of course you will have to be on hold for several minutes before being answered but you should eventually get through. I tried to cancel by sending an email which was not replied to. Luckily for me I read their online T&Cs page before the 10 days were up and I got into real trouble. Don't forget to cancel your direct debit too!

    I DID PHONE THE HOTLINE AND WAS GIVEN A CANCELLATION CODE NUMBER......THIS WAS BEFORE THEY TOOK ME OVER..I CANCEELED WITHIN 2 DAYS OF ORDERING.......IT WAS IGNORED AND ITS LEFT ME IN AN AWFUL MESS..........MY LATEST IS THIS......................FOR THE 3 WEEKS WITH TISCALI...THEY ARE CHARGING ME £80.00 IN CHARGES FOR THIER FAULT.............YES £80.00 FOR LESS THAN A MONTH,ON A SERVICE WHICH IS ONLY £19.99 PER MONTH...ADMITTEDLY I RAN UP EXTRA CHARGES PHONING TISCALI TO GET IT SORTED OUT.....BUT NOT AN EXTRA 60 QUID...I RECKON AT THE MOST ITS AN ALL IN AMOUNT OF 40 QUID TOPS..INCLUDING LINE AND BROADBAND RENTAL....................WHICH THEY ORIGINALLY SAID THEY WOULD PAY..........NOW ITS ALL FORGOTTEN AND THEYRE DEMANDING THE LOT
